Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Energy and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were DNO International ASA (OL:DNO), which rose 4.96% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.05 at the close. Statoil ASA (OL:STL) added 4.61% or 8.1 points to end at 182.6 and Questerre Energy Corporation (OL:QEC) was up 3.87% or 0.21 points to 5.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which lost 2.10% or 4.3 points to trade at 200.5 in late trade. Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) declined 0.86% or 3.1 points to end at 358.0 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) shed 0.75% or 0.42 points to 55.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 39 and 17 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.38% or 1.51 to $61.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.78% or 1.19 to hit $65.67 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.50 to trade at $1321.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.04% to 9.6776, while USD/NOK rose 0.86% to 7.8838.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 90.12.
