Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Services and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which rose 2.89% or 0.170 points to trade at 6.050 at the close. BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) added 2.85% or 3.30 points to end at 119.10 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) was up 2.76% or 4.0000 points to 149.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN), which lost 1.85% or 0.40 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) declined 1.73% or 0.650 points to end at 36.950 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) shed 1.72% or 0.120 points to 6.850.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 81 and 52 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.37% or 4.55 to $1237.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.23% or 0.66 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.65 to trade at $56.49 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.11% to 7.3030, while USD/PHP fell 0.02% to 50.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 101.25.
