Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which rose 5.10% or 1.250 points to trade at 25.750 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 3.84% or 2.800 points to end at 75.800 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) was up 3.25% or 2.55 points to 80.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which lost 3.81% or 0.560 points to trade at 14.140 in late trade. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) declined 0.46% or 0.060 points to end at 13.040 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) shed 0.45% or 0.10 points to 22.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 74 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.30% or 3.65 to $1236.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.14 to trade at $55.89 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.37% to 7.2875, while USD/PHP rose 0.09% to 49.974.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 100.81.
