Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which rose 3.27% or 0.0265 points to trade at 0.8365 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 2.86% or 0.0920 points to end at 3.3120 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 2.67% or 0.0190 points to 0.7300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 3.29% or 0.2500 points to trade at 7.3400 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.22% or 0.3800 points to end at 16.7000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 2.08% or 0.0400 points to 1.8840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.56% or 1.27 to $80.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.39% or 1.72 to hit $70.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1531, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 95.09.
