Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.97% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.19% or 0.0083 points to trade at 0.2063 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 1.98% or 0.061 points to end at 3.141 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 1.96% or 0.008 points to 0.417 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 5.02% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2840 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.82% or 0.0180 points to end at 2.1800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.55% or 0.0800 points to 14.3650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $51.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.71 to trade at $1265.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.0947, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8526.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 98.62.
