Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.27% or 0.0500 points to trade at 4.0000 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.15% or 0.1850 points to end at 16.2800 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.85% or 0.0080 points to 0.9510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 2.06% or 0.250 points to trade at 11.900 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.16% or 0.0340 points to end at 2.8860 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 1.10% or 0.1850 points to 16.5750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.79% or 0.55 to $69.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.42% or 0.90 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 3.20 to trade at $1322.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.2036, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8889.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 91.64.
