Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 4.61% or 0.1610 points to trade at 3.6550 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.20% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.2790 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.45% or 0.0040 points to 0.8980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 3.00% or 0.335 points to trade at 10.840 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 1.67% or 0.2650 points to end at 15.6350 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 1.64% or 0.0480 points to 2.8770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.71% or 0.45 to $64.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.71% or 0.41 to hit $57.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 6.90 to trade at $1271.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1880, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.88.
