Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.04%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LISBON:EDP), which rose 3.90% or 0.1190 points to trade at 3.1670 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) added 3.50% or 0.4050 points to end at 11.9900 and Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) was up 3.04% or 0.2160 points to 7.3200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which fell 2.84% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.65 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 0.10% or 0.0020 points to end at 1.9890 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was up 0.11% or 0.0010 points to 0.9170.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 41 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.84% or 0.02 to 0.65.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.03% or 0.01 to $48.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.07% or 0.48 to hit $45.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.72% or 8.30 to trade at $1145.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.7375.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.45.
