Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 4.58% or 0.950 points to trade at 21.700 at the close. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) added 3.68% or 0.0324 points to end at 0.9127 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was up 3.51% or 19.00 points to 561.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which lost 3.48% or 0.1375 points to trade at 3.8105 in late trade. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.76% or 10.40 points to end at 365.80 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) shed 2.36% or 2.140 points to 88.610.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 99 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.07% to 26.820.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.40% or 4.80 to $1186.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.87% or 1.82 to hit $45.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.66% or 1.80 to trade at $47.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.78% to 65.3444, while EUR/RUB rose 0.99% to 69.446.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 101.16.
