Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 8.07% or 15300 points to trade at 205000 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 2.87% or 9.85 points to end at 352.80 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was up 2.14% or 0.0021 points to 0.0983 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 7.33% or 755.0 points to trade at 9540.0 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 3.71% or 0.0241 points to end at 0.6259 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) shed 3.22% or 120.0 points to 3605.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 110 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.18% to 32.790.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.98% or 12.05 to $1242.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.46% or 0.64 to hit $43.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.34 to trade at $44.73 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.16% to 66.3726, while EUR/RUB rose 0.07% to 74.817.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.69.
