Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 2.05% or 0.037 points to trade at 1.844 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.25% or 0.093 points to end at 7.514 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 1.22% or 0.051 points to 4.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 1.85% or 0.435 points to trade at 23.095 in late trade. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.71% or 0.580 points to end at 33.295 and Acciona (MC:ANA) shed 1.56% or 1.200 points to 75.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 72 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.00% or 0.01 to $1254.89 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.03% or 0.47 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.43 to trade at $48.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1635, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.88.
