Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.02% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 4.01% or 0.390 points to trade at 10.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankia (MC:BKIA) added 2.83% or 0.033 points to end at 1.197 and FCC (MC:FCC) was up 2.61% or 0.177 points to 6.948 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 2.34% or 0.250 points to trade at 10.445 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 2.28% or 0.043 points to end at 1.863 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was down 2.11% or 0.115 points to 5.345.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 102 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.25% or 2.90 to $1165.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.08% or 0.48 to hit $44.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.28 to trade at $47.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1050, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 96.91.
