Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ruentex Materials Co Ltd (TW:8463), which rose 9.92% or 2.50 points to trade at 27.70 at the close. China Steel Structure Co Ltd (TW:2013) added 9.91% or 2.85 points to end at 31.60 and Everspring Industry Co Ltd (TW:2390) was up 9.86% or 1.05 points to 11.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airtac International Group (TW:1590), which lost 9.98% or 26.50 points to trade at 239.00 in late trade. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 8.37% or 7.80 points to end at 85.40 and Novatek Microelectronics Corp (TW:3034) shed 7.89% or 12.50 points to 146.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 514 to 293 and 107 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.00% or 0.69 to $69.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.40% or 0.32 to hit $79.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1200.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 30.832, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2229.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.17.
