Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425), which rose 9.98% or 3.15 points to trade at 34.70 at the close. Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) added 7.94% or 1.00 points to end at 13.60 and Space Shuttle Hi-Tech Co Ltd (TW:2440) was up 5.31% or 0.55 points to 10.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yageo Corp (TW:2327), which lost 9.58% or 69.00 points to trade at 651.00 in late trade. FarGlory Hotel Co Ltd (TW:2712) declined 9.42% or 2.90 points to end at 27.90 and Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) shed 9.36% or 28.00 points to 271.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 521 to 278 and 118 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.30% or 0.20 to $66.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.22% or 0.16 to hit $71.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1215.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 30.719, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2212.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 95.84.
