Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which rose 9.94% or 0.54 points to trade at 5.97 at the close. Powertech Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3296) added 9.94% or 1.80 points to end at 19.90 and Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW:9902) was up 9.83% or 0.98 points to 10.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Mixed-Mode Technology Inc (TW:8081), which lost 6.85% or 5.00 points to trade at 68.00 in late trade. Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) declined 6.72% or 1.80 points to end at 25.00 and Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906) shed 5.58% or 1.20 points to 20.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 453 to 304 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.28% or 0.13 to $46.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.51 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.88 to trade at $1226.08 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.30% to 30.513, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2226.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.91.
