Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which rose 10.00% or 3.75 points to trade at 41.25 at the close. Chailease Holding Co Ltd (TW:5871) added 9.92% or 7.90 points to end at 87.50 and Ta Jiang Co Ltd (TW:1453) was up 9.89% or 0.81 points to 9.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243), which lost 9.96% or 2.55 points to trade at 23.05 in late trade. Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518) declined 9.88% or 3.30 points to end at 30.10 and General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456) shed 9.43% or 25.50 points to 245.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 568 to 209 and 100 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.03 to $56.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $63.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.53 to trade at $1284.23 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.169, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2201.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.66.
