Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Silitech Technology Corp (TW:3311), which rose 9.82% or 1.40 points to trade at 15.65 at the close. Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958) added 7.50% or 5.20 points to end at 74.50 and Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439) was up 5.86% or 1.55 points to 28.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449), which lost 9.97% or 4.55 points to trade at 41.10 in late trade. Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) declined 9.81% or 1.55 points to end at 14.25 and Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408) shed 9.59% or 6.10 points to 57.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 741 to 105 and 68 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.22% or 0.15 to $67.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $76.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1206.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.770, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 94.90.
