Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Prime Electronics & Satellitics Inc (TW:6152), which rose 9.89% or 0.88 points to trade at 9.78 at the close. I-Chiun Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2486) added 9.76% or 1.20 points to end at 13.50 and Para Light Electronics Co Ltd (TW:6226) was up 9.59% or 1.05 points to 12.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CMC Magnetics Corp (TW:2323), which lost 9.98% or 0.990 points to trade at 8.930 in late trade. Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708) declined 9.95% or 10.00 points to end at 90.50 and Ritek Corp (TW:2349) shed 9.88% or 1.600 points to 14.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 500 to 301 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.16% or 0.11 to $68.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 1.24 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1267.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.30% to 30.402, while TWD/CNY rose 0.33% to 0.2158.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.29.
