Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jentech (TW:3653), which rose 9.97% or 5.70 points to trade at 62.90 at the close. Taiwan Mask (TW:2338) added 9.80% or 1.25 points to end at 14.00 and Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) was up 9.37% or 2.40 points to 28.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included San Chih (TW:3579), which lost 3.45% or 0.45 points to trade at 12.60 in late trade. Global View (TW:3040) declined 3.34% or 1.40 points to end at 40.50 and Jui Li (TW:1512) shed 3.13% or 0.25 points to 7.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 411 to 342 and 123 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.63% or 0.78 to $48.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.39% or 0.71 to hit $51.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.05 to trade at $1203.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 30.885, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.38.
