Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465), which rose 10.00% or 0.67 points to trade at 7.37 at the close. Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) added 9.83% or 2.60 points to end at 29.05 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) was up 8.72% or 0.76 points to 9.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Merry Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2439), which lost 6.93% or 12.50 points to trade at 168.00 in late trade. Tripod Technology Corp (TW:3044) declined 6.56% or 6.30 points to end at 89.80 and RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) shed 6.12% or 7.50 points to 115.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 380 to 374 and 121 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.22% or 0.11 to $48.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.42 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.13 to trade at $1258.53 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.146, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2275.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.21.
