Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gamma Optical (TW:3557), which rose 9.96% or 0.520 points to trade at 5.740 at the close. Carry (TW:3054) added 9.90% or 1.95 points to end at 21.65 and Acer (TW:2353) was up 7.32% or 1.05 points to 15.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asia Plastic (TW:1337), which lost 9.18% or 1.85 points to trade at 18.30 in late trade. Pec (TW:4916) declined 7.89% or 3.30 points to end at 38.50 and Bestec Power (TW:3308) shed 7.37% or 0.61 points to 7.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 577 to 204 and 71 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.81% or 0.35 to $43.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.70% or 0.32 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.55 to trade at $1313.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 31.680, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2113.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.75.
