Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Azurewave (TW:3694), which rose 10.00% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Lien Chang Elt (TW:2431) added 9.94% or 1.55 points to end at 17.15 and Walton Chainte (TW:2425) was up 9.93% or 1.50 points to 16.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 7.48% or 0.40 points to trade at 4.95 at the close. Iron Force (TW:2228) declined 6.99% or 13.00 points to end at 173.00 and Twinhead Intl (TW:2364) was down 4.94% or 0.20 points to 3.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 458 to 380 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.17% or 0.08 to $46.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $48.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1108.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.59% to 32.400, while TWD/CNY rose 0.15% to 0.1950.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 98.02.
