At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index fell 0.22%. The TSX Venture dropped while the TSX Smallcap rose. The TSX Venture climbed 0.21%, while the Smallcap was down by 0.40%.
- Dollarama (TSX:DOL): Increased 5.32% or 6.67 points to 131.95.
- Denison Mines (TSX:DML): Rose 3.47% or 0.07 points to 2.09.
- Energy Fuels Inc (TSX:EFR).: Climbed 3.0% or 0.240 points to 6.390.
- SSR Mining (TSX:SSRM): Declined 2.64% or 0.19 points to 7.02.
- Parex Resources (TSX:PXT): Dropped 3.35% or 0.43 points to 12.40.
- Primo Water (TSX:PRMW): Fell 1.92% or 0.61 points to 31.15.
In Commodities Trading:
- November Brent Oil Contract rose by 1.01% or 0.70 points to 69.89 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for October delivery increased 0.69 points to 66.44 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery fell 5.30 points to 2,537.80 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is over the 1.36 line.
- EUR/CAD still struggles to reach over 1.50.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 101.687.
Main Economic Events:
Today's main economic event for the Canadian markets is the Thomson Reuters IPSOS PCSI for September. The US CPI data will also be watched closely.
