Investing.com - Canadian equities started mixed on Monday. The top gainers were Capped Materials, Capped Energy and Renewable Energy and Clean Technology indices. Capped Real Estate, Capped Consumer Staples and Capped Financial indices were the top losers.
At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.27%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture rose 0.44%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.60%.
- SilverCrest Metals (TSX:SIL): Rose 6.43% or 0.97 points to 16.32.
- First Majestic Silver (TSX:AG): Climbed 5.85% or 0.59 points to 10.67.
- Pan American Silver NQ (TSX:PAAS): Increased 5.08% or 1.71 points to 35.40.
- Denison Mines (TSX:DML): Dropped 3.06% or 0.10 points to 3.17.
- NexGen Energy (TSX:NXE): Fell 2.35% or 0.270 points to 11.220.
- Canadian Apartment Properties (TSX:CAR_u): Declined 1.18% or 0.60 points to 50.24.
In Commodities Trading:
- December Brent Oil Contract climbed by 1.71% or 1.25 points to 74.31 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for December delivery rose 1.29 points to 69.98 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery increased 23.70 points to 2,753.70 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is at 1.38.
- EUR/CAD has fallen below 1.50.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 103.505.
