Investing.com – Canada’s main stock exchange continued on its upward swing Wednesday, adding to yesterday’s record close.
The S&P/TSX Composite added another 43 points by midday Wednesday, trading at 17,395.99, up from yesterday’s close of 17,252.90, a 0.27% gain so far on the day.
Leading the index were marijuana companies. They held the top five spots on the list of best performers on the day, with Hexo Corp (TSX:HEXO) leading the pack with 13.94% jump, followed by Aurora Cannabis Inc (TSX:ACB) (+11.16%), Cronos Group Inc (TSX:CRON) (+7.65%), Aphria Inc (TSX:APHA) (+6.86%) and Canopy Growth Corp (TSX:WEED) (+5.64%).
The index is on track to close up for the third day of trading in a row.
The USD/CAD is up 0.20%, trading at 76.70 cents U.S.
