Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 19.94% or 1.38 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 11.66% or 0.900 points to end at 8.620 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 7.58% or 0.160 points to 2.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petkim (IS:PETKM), which lost 1.78% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.860 in late trade. Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) declined 0.58% or 0.18 points to end at 30.74 and Trakya Cam (IS:TRKCM) shed 0.40% or 0.010 points to 2.490.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 319 to 33 and 52 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.74% or 22.75 to $1281.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.36% or 0.16 to hit $44.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.09 to trade at $45.49 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.67% to 3.1798, while EUR/TRY fell 0.22% to 3.5102.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.93% at 97.84.
