Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.55% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Petkim (IS:PETKM) added 2.94% or 0.100 points to end at 3.500 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 2.07% or 0.29 points to 14.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which lost 3.89% or 1.32 points to trade at 32.62 in late trade. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 3.73% or 0.060 points to end at 1.550 and Akbank (IS:AKBNK) shed 3.23% or 0.26 points to 7.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 228 to 112 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.02% or 12.70 to $1232.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.04% or 1.13 to hit $36.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.81% or 1.11 to trade at $38.42 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.23% to 2.9056, while EUR/TRY rose 1.26% to 3.2275.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.66.
