Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Holdings & Investments, Food & Beverages and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS), which rose 6.43% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.820 at the close. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) added 2.03% or 0.090 points to end at 4.530 and Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) was up 2.03% or 1.15 points to 57.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which lost 7.85% or 11.30 points to trade at 132.70 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 6.98% or 0.030 points to end at 0.400 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 6.09% or 1.72 points to 26.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 107 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.72% or 8.75 to $1207.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.62% or 0.86 to hit $52.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.39% or 0.78 to trade at $55.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.31% to 3.7292, while EUR/TRY rose 1.18% to 3.9362.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 102.07.
