Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Banking and Automobiles & Parts sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HRGV), which rose 4.92% or 37.60 points to trade at 802.60 at the close. Tui AG (LON:TUIT) added 2.74% or 12.80 points to end at 479.80 and 3I Group PLC (LON:III) was up 1.86% or 38.00 points to 2,085.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY), which lost 4.04% or 87.00 points to trade at 2,065.00 in late trade. Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) declined 2.68% or 39.00 points to end at 1,416.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) shed 2.65% or 11.50 points to 422.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 887 to 774 and 473 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 0.90 to $1,952.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.31% or 0.28 to hit $90.86 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.24 to trade at $94.67 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.24, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.79.
