Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.70%, while the ADX General index added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 6.25% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.530 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 4.76% or 0.05 points to end at 1.10 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 3.84% or 0.017 points to 0.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which lost 1.48% or 0.030 points to trade at 2.000 in late trade. Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) declined 1.04% or 0.060 points to end at 5.700 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) shed 0.77% or 0.020 points to 2.580.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 14.90% to 4.550, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 4.21% to settle at 0.9900 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which gained 3.45% to close at 3.000.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 2.70% to 0.360 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 2.33% to settle at 0.840 and Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 0.89% to 1.110 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 14 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 rose and 7 declined, while 10 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.59% or 0.75 to $46.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.50% or 0.74 to hit $48.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.30 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.12% to 3.8948.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 101.31.
