Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 2.07%, while the ADX General index added 2.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 13.67% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 5.27% or 0.025 points to end at 0.499 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 4.91% or 0.130 points to 2.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which lost 2.26% or 0.090 points to trade at 3.900 in late trade. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 0.91% or 0.010 points to end at 1.090 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 0.78% or 0.010 points to 1.280.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 11.76% to 0.380, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was up 9.76% to settle at 2.250 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 5.82% to close at 6.00.
The worst performers were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 9.02% to 1.110 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 5.81% to settle at 1.46 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.36% to 2.650 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 10 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.46% or 0.67 to $45.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.28% or 0.60 to hit $46.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1224.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6736, while EUR/AED fell 0.22% to 3.9299.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 100.50.
