Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Insurance and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.64%, while the ADX General index declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 8.51% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.530 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 3.27% or 0.018 points to end at 0.568 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 2.91% or 0.060 points to 2.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE), which lost 1.18% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.756 in late trade. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 0.91% or 0.010 points to end at 1.090 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) shed 0.84% or 0.010 points to 1.180.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 14.78% to 2.330, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was up 8.26% to settle at 2.490 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which gained 5.88% to close at 0.7200.
The worst performers were Al Khaleej Investment Co PJSC (AD:KICO) which was down 9.86% to 3.11 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 4.08% to settle at 0.470 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 3.23% to 0.300 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 12 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.83% or 0.43 to $52.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 0.98 to trade at $1279.92 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.13% to 4.3210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.71.
