Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.13%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA), which rose 2.81% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 1.92% or 0.010 points to end at 0.530 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 1.67% or 0.150 points to 9.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 5.16% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.470 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.01% or 0.015 points to end at 0.730 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was down 1.80% or 0.020 points to 1.090.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 11.11% to 3.50, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 3.38% to settle at 1.53 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 2.54% to close at 10.10.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 6.25% to 0.90 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 3.57% to settle at 0.560 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.89% to 0.520 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 7 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 8 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.03% or 0.46 to $44.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.68% or 0.33 to hit $47.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.20 to trade at $1106.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.15% to 4.1100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.06.
