Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Insurance, Transport and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher while losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.29%, while the ADX General index declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 13.53% or 0.230 points to trade at 1.930 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 12.66% or 0.060 points to end at 0.534 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 4.16% or 0.022 points to 0.551 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 1.38% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.641 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) declined 1.11% or 0.100 points to end at 8.900 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 0.97% or 0.006 points to 0.614.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 8.00% to 2.97, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 4.37% to settle at 1.67 and Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which gained 3.85% to close at 0.540.
The worst performers were Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which was down 9.90% to 4.73 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 1.96% to settle at 0.500 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.49% to 0.6600 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 6; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 10 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.90% or 0.52 to 4.73.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.39% or 0.63 to $44.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.00% or 0.01 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.17% or 2.00 to trade at $1164.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6726, while EUR/AED fell 0.81% to 4.0477.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 97.18.
