The Federal Open Market Committee issues minutes from its meeting of Dec. 15-16, where it raised
interest rates for the first time in nearly a decade. Fed's move signaled faith that the U.S.
economy had largely overcome the wounds of the 2007-2009 financial crisis. (1400/1900)

The ADP National Employment Report for December is likely to show a gain of 192,000 jobs.
(0815/1315) Separately, the Commerce Department issues international trade data for November.
The trade gap is likely to widen to $44 billion. (0830/1330) Later, November factory orders data
is estimated to show that new orders for manufactured goods declined 0.2 percent. (1000/1500)
Meanwhile, the Institute for Supply Management releases its index of non-manufacturing activity.

Monsanto (N:MON) Co, one of the world's largest seed and agrichemical companies, is scheduled to release
results for its fiscal 2016 first quarter. The company said in November it expects to lose 23-33
cents a share in the quarter, hurt by restructuring costs, pricing pressures on its herbicide
glyphosate, slower-than-expected U.S. corn seed sales and a weak Brazilian currency.

The Consumer Electronics Show opens in Las Vegas. General Motors (N:GM) CEO Mary Barra, Volkswagen (DE:VOWG_p)
Passenger Cars CEO Herbert Diess, YouTube Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl and Netflix (O:NFLX) CEO
Reed Hastings are among a few who will deliver keynote addresses at the event. Sony is expected
to discuss 2016 product line-up ahead of the opening. Also, Michael Huerta of the Federal
Aviation Administration will be talking consumer drones at the show along with David Vos, leader
of Google's drone initiative, Project Wing.

Statistics Canada to release trade balance data that is expected to show a deficit of C$2.60
billion in November, compared with a deficit of C$2.76 billion in October. (0830/1330)

Markit's Purchasing Managers Index for Brazilian Services for December scheduled for release.
The index rose on a seasonally adjusted basis to 45.5 in November from 43.0 in October.
