The Retail segment involves the operation of retail outlets under the Food City, Cargills Express, and Food Hal brand names; and Cargills Online, an e-commerce platform. The Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Distribution offers ice cream and other dairy products, fruit-based products, processed and fresh meat products, biscuits, distribution of international FMCG products, and production, importation, and distribution of agricultural seeds. The Restaurant segment is involved in the operation of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and TGIF restaurants under franchise agreements. The Real Estate segment operates as Cargills Square shopping and entertainment malls. The company also offers dairy products such as fresh and value-added milk, cheese, butter, and set and drinking yogurt under the Kotmale brand; confectionaries, such as biscuits, wafers, crackers, and chocolate-enrobed biscuits under the Kist brand; processed meat products, fresh meats, and cold cuts under the Goldi, Sam's, and Cargills Finest brand names; beverages including nectars, cordials, fruit juices, squash concentrates, carbonated fruit drinks, and carbonated soft drinks, as well as bottled water; and condiments including jams, sauces, treacle, vinegar, and chutneys. In addition, the company provides financial, leisure, and hospitality services and operates theaters. Further, it produces, imports, and distributes local and imported seeds, insect-proof nets, plastic mulching, plant stimulants, agricultural water pumps, non-chemical pest control systems, and micro irrigation systems. The company was founded in 1844 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Cargills (Ceylon) PLC is a subsidiary of C T Holdings PLC.
