Nippi,Incorporated, together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells collagen and gelatin products in Japan, Thailand, rest of Asia, North America, and internationally. It operates through Collagen Casing Business, Gelatin-Related Business, Cosmetics Related Business, Leather-Related Business, Pipes and Real Estate Business, and Food and Other Businesses segments. The company offers collagen casings for use in various fields, including sausages, other food, medicine and medical care, and cosmetics; gelatin products, which is used in food, pharmaceuticals, and photo films; collagen peptides for the food and pharmaceutical industries; leather products for the automotive industry; and collagen-based cosmetics, skin and health care, and functional food products. It also provides functional polymers comprising Nippi Linker cross-linked polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films and sheets, and cross-linked PVC compounds for electric wires and cables; and Nippi V PVC quilting cloth and foam products. In addition, the company offers pet supplements, and test regents and kits for animals; life science products, such as low endotoxin gelatin products, recombinant human laminin protein for iPS cell culture substrates, lab equipment and supplies, and reagents for research; and synthetic products, such as plastics and compounds. Further, it engages in the development of urban renewal projects; and provision of management, consulting, and real estate rental services. The company was formerly known as The Japan Leather Mfg. Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Nippi,Incorporated in February 1974. The company was incorporated in 1907 and is headquartered in Adachi, Japan.
