SOMAR Corporation engages in materials, environmental and food materials, and other businesses in Japan and internationally. The company offers films used in production processes and SMD/sealing materials for use in PCBs; high functional films, outer protection/moisture-proof materials, and related materials for use in electric/electronic parts; and high light-shading/non-light reflection films for use in optical instruments. It also provides insulation materials for motors and sealing materials for electronic control devices; ink-jet printing films and large copy machine printing films for use in sign/graphic designs; slime control agents, preservatives, and water retention aids for use in paper manufacturing; and thickeners or stabilizers, and dehydrated vegetables. In addition, the company offers adhesive/weak adhesive, UV releasing, and thermal-expansion releasing films; rigid materials; resins for electronic parts, and motors/electronic components; black and black non-reflection films; ink jet films; PPC films; nonwoven fabric clothes; and water retention and cleaning agents. SOMAR Corporation was formerly known as Marusho Industrial Co., Ltd. and changed its name to SOMAR Corporation in 1984. The company was incorporated in 1948 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
