Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Auto and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.15% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL), which rose 2.45% or 14.05 points to trade at 586.60 at the close. Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO) added 2.31% or 9.80 points to end at 433.20 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) was up 1.49% or 38.50 points to 2,617.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle India Ltd (NS:NEST), which lost 0.91% or 180.45 points to trade at 19,555.00 in late trade. ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK) declined 0.91% or 8.55 points to end at 930.30 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) shed 0.85% or 16.45 points to 1,928.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which rose 1.34% to 2,617.05, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was up 1.16% to settle at 402.65 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which gained 1.01% to close at 1,079.90.
The worst performers were Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was down 1.30% to 19,525.95 in late trade, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which lost 0.95% to settle at 1,928.45 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was down 0.87% to 930.40 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1192 to 690 and 67 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2019 rose and 1359 declined, while 125 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.08% to 13.33 a new 52-week low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 7.65 to $1,753.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.03% or 1.58 to hit $79.52 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 1.22 to trade at $86.56 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.02% to 81.60, while EUR/INR rose 0.06% to 84.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 105.81.
