Investing.com – India equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the IT, Technology and Metals sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Power, Real Estate and Capital Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.01%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC), which rose 4.33% or 6.90 points to trade at 166.25 at the close. Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 3.32% or 97.25 points to end at 3025.60 and Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) was up 1.86% or 4.75 points to 259.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which lost 2.00% or 45.05 points to trade at 2208.30 in late trade. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) declined 1.70% or 29.40 points to end at 1699.35 and ACC Ltd (NS:ACC) shed 1.31% or 24.15 points to 1820.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which rose 4.71% to 166.90, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was up 3.19% to settle at 3022.05 and Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which gained 1.94% to close at 259.90.
The worst performers were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which was down 1.77% to 2210.25 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 0.92% to settle at 269.35 and NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which was down 0.77% to 167.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 900 to 650 and 19 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1425 fell and 1074 advanced, while 140 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.81% to 11.6775.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.49 to $1328.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.10 to trade at $55.57 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 64.105, while EUR/INR rose 0.16% to 76.5521.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 91.86.
