Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Strauss Group (TA:STRS), which rose 3.07% or 199 points to trade at 6683 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) added 2.69% or 77 points to end at 2940 and Poalim (TA:POLI) was up 2.34% or 54 points to 2359 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Israel Corp (TA:ILCO), which lost 1.66% or 1130 points to trade at 66910 in late trade. Partner (TA:PTNR) declined 1.35% or 31 points to end at 2260 and Gazit Globe (TA:GZT) shed 1.31% or 50 points to 3775.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 209 to 178 and 57 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.30% or 0.69 to $52.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.09% or 0.61 to hit $55.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 8.45 to trade at $1207.65 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.36% to 3.6900, while EUR/ILS rose 0.25% to 3.8948.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 102.02.
