Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 3.22% or 0.970 points to trade at 31.140 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) added 3.21% or 0.990 points to end at 31.810 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.95% or 0.460 points to 16.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which lost 0.66% or 0.750 points to trade at 112.100 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) declined 0.51% or 0.960 points to end at 186.250 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) gained 0.05% or 0.060 points to 118.060.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 72 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.76% or 9.55 to $1261.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.81% or 1.40 to hit $51.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.02 to trade at $52.95 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.97% to 18.9237, while EUR/MXN fell 2.47% to 21.0773.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 96.92.
