Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.65% or 33.20 points to trade at 746.50 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.56% or 0.750 points to end at 48.700 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) was up 1.41% or 0.200 points to 14.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 4.10% or 0.910 points to trade at 21.260 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 3.65% or 1.050 points to end at 27.720 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) shed 2.15% or 0.760 points to 34.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 126 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.67 to $1247.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.21% or 0.96 to hit $42.55 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.65% or 1.22 to trade at $44.80 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 18.2223, while EUR/MXN rose 0.41% to 20.3422.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 97.24.
