Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which rose 3.66% or 41.00 points to trade at 1160.00 at the close. Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) added 2.93% or 0.700 points to end at 24.600 and Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) was up 2.38% or 5.80 points to 249.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SM Investments Corp (PS:SM), which lost 2.05% or 17.00 points to trade at 812.00 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 1.24% or 25.00 points to end at 1995.00 and Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) shed 0.94% or 0.140 points to 14.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 95 and 45 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.86 to $1337.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.10 to trade at $54.37 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.13% to 7.8020, while USD/PHP rose 0.10% to 50.950.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 91.75.
