Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Computers & Peripherals, Textile and Cement sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arcadyan Technology Corp (TW:3596), which rose 9.76% or 8.40 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. Chi Mei Materials Technology Corp (TW:4960) added 9.73% or 1.10 points to end at 12.40 and KPT Industries Ltd (TW:1805) was up 9.57% or 1.00 points to 11.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which lost 10.00% or 0.60 points to trade at 5.40 in late trade. AU Optronics (TW:2409) declined 6.67% or 0.85 points to end at 11.90 and Wei Chuan Foods Corp (TW:1201) shed 5.79% or 1.30 points to 21.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $53.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $61.95 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1317.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.781, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2191.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.905.
