Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Fortune Electric Co Ltd (TW:1519), which rose 9.87% or 2.20 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) added 9.11% or 2.45 points to end at 29.35 and Adimmune Corp (TW:4142) was up 8.14% or 1.55 points to 20.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zhen Ding Technology Holding Ltd (TW:4958), which lost 9.96% or 7.70 points to trade at 69.60 in late trade. LARGAN Precision Co Ltd (TW:3008) declined 9.92% or 425.00 points to end at 3860.00 and Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:5269) shed 8.73% or 49.00 points to 512.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 497 to 296 and 114 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.22% or 0.15 to $68.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $77.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1204.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.00% to 30.808, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2235.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 94.03.
