Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Hotels and Rubber sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Tv (TW:9928), which rose 9.98% or 0.50 points to trade at 5.51 at the close. E-Lead Elec (TW:2497) added 9.88% or 3.00 points to end at 33.35 and Hiti Digital (TW:3494) was up 9.83% or 1.45 points to 16.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yu Foung Intl (TW:1438), which lost 8.71% or 0.39 points to trade at 4.09 in late trade. Gourmet Master (TW:2723) declined 6.14% or 18.00 points to end at 275.00 and Choice Develop (TW:9929) shed 5.43% or 0.70 points to 12.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 410 to 325 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.69% or 0.34 to $49.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.78% or 0.39 to hit $50.13 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.44% or 5.35 to trade at $1229.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.33% to 32.537, while TWD/CNY rose 0.25% to 0.2017.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.21.
