Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Rubber sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Transasia (TW:6702), which rose 9.94% or 0.34 points to trade at 3.76 at the close. Goldsun Const (TW:2504) added 9.94% or 0.62 points to end at 6.86 and Ene (TW:6243) was up 9.82% or 1.35 points to 15.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which lost 8.19% or 1.15 points to trade at 12.90 in late trade. AP Memory Technology Corp (TW:6531) declined 5.57% or 4.10 points to end at 69.50 and Yu Foung Intl (TW:1438) shed 4.36% or 0.170 points to 3.730.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 402 to 343 and 123 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.79% or 0.37 to $46.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.89% or 0.44 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1190.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.13% to 31.795, while TWD/CNY fell 0.32% to 0.2168.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 101.30.
