Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Biotech & Medical Care and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.34% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Abnova (TW:4133), which rose 9.95% or 2.75 points to trade at 30.40 at the close. Lily Textile (TW:1443) added 7.41% or 0.37 points to end at 5.36 and Crowell (TW:2528) was up 7.09% or 0.57 points to 8.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zinwell (TW:2485), which lost 9.97% or 4.40 points to trade at 39.75 in late trade. Pec (TW:4916) declined 9.94% or 4.40 points to end at 39.85 and Li Cheng (TW:4426) shed 9.76% or 12.00 points to 111.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 581 to 180 and 86 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $46.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $47.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.24% or 3.00 to trade at $1272.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 32.538, while TWD/CNY rose 0.15% to 0.2002.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 93.92.
