Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Iron & Steel and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were King Core (TW:6155), which rose 10.00% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Davicom (TW:3094) added 10.00% or 2.55 points to end at 28.05 and Walton Chainte (TW:2425) was up 10.00% or 1.45 points to 15.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mosel (TW:2342), which fell 8.00% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.30 at the close. Carry (TW:3054) declined 7.18% or 1.35 points to end at 17.45 and Htc Corp (TW:2498) was down 6.41% or 5.20 points to 75.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 486 to 349 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.93% or 0.43 to $45.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.63% or 0.30 to hit $48.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.80 to trade at $1174.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 32.430, while TWD/CNY rose 0.15% to 0.1957.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.87.
